What's going on at Gouarec Campsite in 2019...
All events held at, or organised by us are free to attend. The only payment (6€/night per person) is if you would like to camp.
Every last sunday of the month our little local car club (and bike/tractor etc) the ICC hold a morning meeting at 10.00am at the Abbey at Bob Repos. Afterwards the group moves onto the campsite and we have a BBQ together - anyone is welcome to come and enjoy seeing some lovely cars and great people;-)
A massive success in 2018 with over 150 cars and bikes came from far and wide, and the evening musical event was loved by all. This will now be an annual event so watch this space...
The big car event of the year - a chance to see wonderful cars and meet lovely people;-) The 'public' day is the 15th June, but for 'drivers' and people on the campsite there are extra things on both the Friday evening and Sunday. Should be a great weekend for everyone;-)
This is a weekend where the campsite has combined with the village to make a wonderful weekend with a 'Vintage' feel full of classic cars, vintage stalls, music and food;-)
- Some cars will arrive at the campsite for a warm welcome. General get-together, BBQ.
In the day - After breakfast, the cars etc will process to the centre of the village (which will be closed to other traffic) and park-up to add to the atmosphere of the day which will begin officially at 11.00 am. There will be car concours, competition for the best 'vintage' outfit. In the centre there will be a vintage market and various food stalls etc. We will also provide routes in the area for drivers who wish to explore all the wonderful places within easy reach.
- pm - At 6.00pm the action moves to the campsite, led by a marching band, where there will be an 'apero-concert' with varied live music and magic This finishes at 10.30 pm after which those that want to dance the night away will walk the 500m to the Bar de Mi-Temps for music through the night (leaving the campsite peaceful).
As part of the event there will be three (desirable) prizes... The catagories are
1 - Best vehicle of the show - yes if it's a motorbike or tractor that all counts!
2 - Best and most appropriately dressed vehicle/passenger combination
3 - Best 'Oily Rag'
A gentle start for all the participants as we drive/ride to the Abbey and market at Bon Repos in order to show the vehicles, explore the market and buy a picnic ... We then drive out to the lake at Langoelan for a very leisurely picnic;-) There's a bar there just waiting for us - there will be two routes - a 'long one' and a direct one for people in vehicles that can only make 20 mph;-)
