Gite Hire from Camping de Gouarec

We have two lovely gites both within 500m of the campsite which offer an interesting alternative to camping but allow you access to all the campsite has to offer. Quarry Cottage will sleep up to 6 and the other larger gite can accommodate up to 10 so big enough for two families or a group.

Quarry Cottage - Pretty as a picture - Sleeps up to 6 - 400€/week

DSCF8812

The perfect spot for cycletouring, walking in the woods or just relaxing...

This, our smaller Gite is just 500m from the campsite and so a 5 minute walk will get you to the baker, supermarkets and restaurants. But unlike our larger gite, rather than being in the centre of the village this cottage is tucked away down a little quiet lane just 100m from the canal and also at the start of one of the lovely marked walks through the 'Foret de Quenican'.

The Cottage itself is over 100 years old, stone and slate built in the traditional 'longere' style. It has a flower garden full of roses and a large paved area with barbecue, garden furnature and a large cabin for those summer showers... It is ideal for a couple or smaller family - you could sleep 5 in it quite happily, but the larger gite would be more appropriate for larger parties. On the other hand it is particularly cosy with a wood fire (with unlimited wood included) and heating so it is the first choice out of season when evenings get colder, but it is also a south-facing sun-trap so very light and airy -

Accommodation

The Cottage comprises a large and well equipped kitchen/diner and a cosy living room with wood fire. Also on the ground floor is the main bedroom - these three rooms laid out in a line as with many Breton cottages (hence 'longere'). Behind this is a bathroom/laundry with a shower. The loft space has been converted into a large bedroom/den ideal for kids, with a table and chairs and three beds - which is reached via a loft ladder type staircase from the main bedroom. The main bedroom is large enough to take a cot if needed, and full height windows open directly onto the patio outside.

There are books, comics and a table upstairs and a wide selection of games. But there is no TV - apart from the dire state of French television, it means that you get a holiday from the 'real world' and time as a family.

The house is well equipped and all linen including towels can be provided for an extra 20€ per person. In addition to personal items and clothes all you need bring are wash kits.

Costs

The house is for hire at 350 Euro a week.

Lastly, unlike most gites we don't charge cleaning deposits or the like, but we'd expect you to leave the house as clean as you found it (linen etc excepted). If you like (and we quite understand!), we can organise our 'chalet maid' to clean after you have left for the sum of 40e, especially useful if you have to make a run for it early in the morning, please let us know which during your stay - we're trusting types..

17 Rue D'Eglise - Live in the Heart of a French village - Sleeps up to 10 - 500€/week

Large gite

The perfect base for cycletouring for families and bigger groups

Even more than Quarry Cottage this large house is right in the heart of the village. If you want to wake up and fling the shutters open to be greeted by the sounds of a French village and the smell of baguettes baking then you've come to the right place - everything is within 200m of the house which is tucked back in the old part of the village on a road where lorries are banned and cars both slow moving and infrequent..

living room2

As with many French houses the main accommodation is on the first and second floor, the ground floor being reserved for a garage and utility rooms. The big advantage of this is that the rooms get more light and breakfast can be taken in the kitchen whilst you look down on the world passing by. The kitchen is large enough for 6 people to eat breakfast, for larger groups the living room/dining room has a large refectory table which will seat 10 or more. This living room has a large convertable corner sofa and comfortable chairs, there are also wicker chairs in all the bedrooms that are easy to move around and so make the seating arrangement very flexible.

kitchen

Sleeping accommodation comprises three double bedrooms, one equipped with a double bed, two upstairs with (by popular request) twin bunk beds - this room also geared up for smaller children, including a rocking horse:-). One of these bedrooms also has quality convertible settee so that room is a cosy family room if you wish. The living room also has a good quality convertible sofa so that the gite will sleep 8 with ease. Cots and folding beds can also be supplied if you wish making it ideal for one or two families and raising the number to 10. Stairs are fitted with gates for toddlers and there are even toys for smaller occupants:-) There are also books, comics and a 'primary school' type table and chairs in one of the bedrooms. There's a wide selection of games too.

Dining room

There is no garden but rather a paved courtyard, where you'll find a large stone barbecue and tables and chairs, this can be locked and so makes a safe area for toddlers providing their first name isn't Houdini.

The house is well equipped and all linen including towels can be provided for an extra 20€ per person.
